What is Areola Tattooing?

This is the placement of pigment beneath the epidermis of the skin in the areola area.

What type of pigment is used?

All our artists use pure organic pigments for all areola tattooing procedure.

How do I prepare for the appointment?

The day of the procedure, wear a comfortable bra and bring any photos of your breast(s) prior to surgery if you have them, however this is not needed.

Will I have pain during the procedure?

No, 98% of the time, there is no pain in the reconstructed breast. For the other 2%, we will apply a topical anesthetic so there is little to no pain.

How is the Color and size of my areola determined:

When you meet your artist, they will work with you to determine the color and size. We first draw a sketch on the area. Once the color and size are agreed upon, the artist will create dimension with color and shading, giving you a realistic nipple and areola. When the procedure is finished you will be amazed with the results!

Will I need another appointment?

This process is usually complete in one appointment. However, in some cases, you may require an additional touch up, depending on your individual healing process. If a follow up is necessary, you will need to return in 4 to 6 weeks.

Can I proceed to normal activity after this procedure?

Yes! There is no down time with this procedure, so you should be able to resume your normal activities right away. However, there are a few restrictions: No vigorous exercise for the first 24 hours and no soaking in any bathtubs, swimming pools or jacuzzi’s for a 7 days after.

Will the needle puncture my implant?

No, the needle only goes into the dermis which, is just 2mm into the skin.

How long will it last?

Everyone is different, however, your tattoo should last up to 5 years.

If I have hair on my breast, should I remove it first?

This is not necessary. However, if you choose to, you may pluck or shave the hair at least 48 hours prior to your tattoo procedure.
